"Debate chaos"

This debate was ridiculous...what has our politics come to. Or maybe it's just our culture. It seems like whoever is the loudest and makes the most insults commands the most time, and wins.  Kasich and Carson were the only adults on the stage tonight in my opinion...sadly they are at the bottom in this competition, what does that say about us?

You can see why the folks are so turned off with politics, they want to hear about solutions to problems not a "food fight". But I guess that's what our society is expecting and it is displayed even in awards shows like the Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammy's where people have forgotten to be gracious and feel they have to make a 'statement'.

Oh well, this will be a short Blog, next Tuesday could be a big game changer or the Trump machine could keep rolling. And maybe some sense will come to this primary season.

And it's not much different on the democratic side where the choices of Hillary or Bernie show just how pitifully deficient our leadership choices are. I'm going to bed :-)

The really stupid part of this whole process is that after the convention, when one has been nominated, they will all tell us how wonderful the candidate is. They will hope that the voters will have forgotten all the negative things they said about the candidate.
This process makes no sense at all. There should only be statements in the debates about "what I will do," not how bad the other guy is. All of this only tends to reduce the candidate's stature in the November election.

I agree Jim, it was more like a 'cage fight' than a debate. I think all of the top three came out looking worse than when they went in. I cannot believe this country has such a dearth of leadership material, but voters elected Obama twice so what can I say?

The lead up to the featured the usual talking heads with something different. There was a subtle message that the debate would involve some fireworks directed mostly at Trump. That was coming for various individuals associated with the Rubio and Cruz campaign. It had the tone of an impending assault on Trump as a last ditch effort to scuttle his candidacy.
During the debate, Trump was being relentlessly badgered from his immediate left and right by Rubio and Cruz. He tossed back some insults, but his obvious assault was unrelenting. The political pundits preceding the debate and following were telling the audience that the RNC did not want Trump (the Republican clown) to go any further.
Almost every question asked was an easy opening for Rubio and Cruz to jump on Trump with obscure personal criticism. It kind of looked like Rubio and Cruz were briefed in advance on the planned assault, so they were ready with the insults and personal attack.
