"Progressives in action"

As I have stated before, I am not a Trump supporter but this situation in Chicago tonight was very disturbing. "Progressives" claim to be the political wave of the future but they are digging their own grave. To shut down a Trump rally just because you don't want him to speak goes against the basic freedom our Founders protected in the First Amendment of the Constitution.

And this is not the first case of this; Conservative speakers are now routinely rejected from speaking on campuses across this country because students do not want to hear their point of view. What a shame that we are turning out monolithic minds from our campuses that simply don't think anymore. Can you imagine a group of Conservatives rioting to keep a Progressive from speaking; no, they either listen or don't bother to listen.

I don't know if this shut down of the Trump rally in Chicago was organized, but preliminary reports are that many of the protesters were Bernie Sanders and MoveOn.org supporters. It will be interesting to see what Bernie has to say about this potential riot and if some were 'paid' protesters.

But no matter, Progressives and so-called Socialists need to take a hard look at why they cannot hear another point of view by refusing to let Conservative speakers on campuses or threatening a riot in a rally by someone that they may not agree with.

I suspect that this will further energize the Trump campaign.

P.S. I have never seen this country so divided, the fault falls on both parties but in the end it falls on the person we elected to lead us.

Leaders, past and present lead us to this condition.

Interesting one sided view Chuck. Trump has been ejecting even people that sit quietly wearing a Bernie Tshirt. He has incited his supporters to assault people at his rally's. I believe he was the one that cancelled the rally because they couldn't close the doors to people with dissenting opinions. The riots broke out afterwards and it's not clear who started them. Doesn't matter though, both sides are fighting. It's clear the process has completely broken down. I'm frankly glad my son lives in Japan and isn't a part of this idiocy.

Now where did you hear that the Trump campaign ejected people just because they had a Bernie T-shirt? You have been been swallowing the main stream media cool aid. From what I have seen people have been ejected because they have been disrupting the speaker, which is the speakers right. If the protesters want to hear there own voices, they should rent a stadium and make their point. The First Amendment gives the right to free speech not the right to stop someone else from speaking.

Some folks comment on my Blog frequently and do not always agree with my opinion. I wonder how they would feel if I automatically deleted any comments that I didn't want to hear? Trump is a firebrand but not the first politician to be so. I am getting fed up with so called "Progressives" who claim to support the Constitution and then turn around and shut down free speech whenever it is speech they don't agree with. The problem is especially disturbing on college campuses these days when a Conservative point of view is simply not tolerated.

Nighthawk's opinion follows the philosophy that if a woman has been raped, it is her fault. If she has been violated, it is because she asked for it. Come on, the disgrace in Chicago was not because the Trump organization invited those idiots into their rally and asked them to create a disturbance. There is nothing to suggest that people were laying in wait to attack some poor little guest that didn't like what was being said. Your thinking is part of the problem, not the solution. There are too many malcontents in our country who believe they have the right to withhold those same rights from others. If you think Japan is a great place to live, maybe you should consider moving there to be closer to your son. After all, Japan would never attack anyone unprovoked.

A friend of a relative was the person that was ejected, and she was genuinely afraid as they escorted her out. It has happened before Chuck. Trump is a fascist, that is undisputed. Have you read his quotes during rally's regarding protesters. His rally's remind me of the old black and white movies of Hitler rousing the masses in the 1930's.

Jim, you are mixing two incidents. The rally where the woman was ejected for the Bernie Tshirt was not in Chicago. Pay attention, I know things move fast some times for some folks but you will get it if you pay attention.

It's time to stop holding Japanese people accountable for WW2 in the Pacific. The country is vastly different now, a good ally, and a pleasant place to visit and live. Very few Japanese are alive that took part in that war. Time to grow up Jim, look at the world as it is, and not as you would like it to be.

This is my country. I was born here, was educated here, and I fought for it in a brutal war that left 60,000 Ameticans dead, and about 2.5 million Vietnamese dead beside them. I earned my American rights, so you can roll your opinions of me into a little ball and pack them where the sun don't shine.

Trump is a bigot, a racist, and a misogynist; he dodged the draft, has no understanding of international relations, panders to illiterate or just plain stupid self interested people, and is a fascist. Hillary is a serial liar, who is worse than Trump in many ways. She has no allegiance to anyone but herself, and shows all of the characteristics of a sociopath. With those two, look at what our great country has put up for the position of the most powerful leader in the world. It sickens me, and it sickens me more that intelligent people support one or the other simply because they claim membership in a political party. Bernie Sanders may be a Socialist, but there is every indication that he's an honest man. Just having an honest man in the WH would be an improvement.
