"Who is embarassing America?""

Barack Obama:  “The number one question I am getting as I travel around the world or talk to world leaders right now is, what is happening in America about our politics.

John Kerry:  "Everywhere I go, every leader I meet, they ask about what is happening in America. They cannot believe it. It upsets people's sense of equilibrium about our steadiness, about our reliability. And to some degree, I must say to you, some of the questions, the way they are posed to me, it's clear to me that what's happening is an embarrassment to our country".

Look closely at almost the same talking points from these two feckless leaders during the last few days. This administration has taken hypocrisy to new levels and continues to do so.

Politics can be a tough game, and maybe more so this primary season, but let me tell you what an "embarrassment" to our country really is:

- It started with the ISIS beheading of American James Foley on a video that went viral around the world. ISIS wanted our attention and that video signaled the start of a new major Islamic terror organization.  Obama was on vacation at that time. He didn't cancel his vacation and you can decide  whether or not that was appropriate, but it was how he handled it all; giving a speech about the horror of the beheading and immediately running off to play golf and yuk it up with his friends.

- Then Obama refuses to go to France along with other major leaders to march in solidarity after France's first major terror attack. Instead John Kerry shows up a few days later with James Taylor singing; "You've got a friend"...embarrassing and childish like Hillary's 'reset' button to the Russians.

- I won't elaborate on the Iranian nuclear deal; it has been covered so much in the press. But how embarrassing for this country that while Kerry and Obama were negotiating the deal (against the wishes of many of our allies, especially Israel), the Iranians were dancing in the streets shouting "death to America"...still hard to believe.

But while John Kerry and Barack Obama make the rounds of the talk shows spouting rhetoric about how embarrassing our political contests are; Obama as President of this great country demonstrates to the world what embarrassing behavior really is:  While Brussels is in flames and Islamic terror makes another major strike (which we now find has killed four Americans), our leader is shown doing the "wave" at a baseball game with communist leader Raul Castro and he follows that with a tango in Argentina, both embarrassing videos that were shown around the world.

So while Obama and Kerry play politics about America's "embarrassing" political season, they have proved to be the 'champions' of embarrassing America in a much more harmful way. It's still hard for me to believe how my fellow Americans could elect this narcissistic clown twice...no wonder voters are in the mood to really shakeup Washington politics.

The historical picture regarding Obama includes a dominant image of white guilt with hope that a black president would somehow eliminate racism in America. Well, that certainly didn’t happen and the plight of blacks in America today is much worse off than how it was when Obama first took office.

One of the Obama key platitudes was to get us out of the never-ending wars in the Middle East that was killing us economically. He didn’t quite do that, but he managed to pull out of Iraq and other areas leaving a vacuum behind that has been filled by terrorist organizations like ISIS. Then there was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blundering her way around that part of the world where no respect is ever given to female officials. Ah, but the Clinton foundation seemed to gain billions of dollars during that time with an enormous influx of foreign contributions. Does that suggest a reason why Hillary had a private personal email server outside the State Department? If the Secretary of State were running an extortion scheme, would she do that through State Department secure email channels? Did Obama fire her or did she quit to run for office with a two year run up to the primaries?

Obama doesn’t seem to feel any political discomfort as his final months as president wind down. He has little to say of substance regarding the terrorist attacks in France and Belgium. He has no plan in place to deal with ISIS and his rhetoric is steadfast against ever uttering the term Islamic Terrorism. Some people recognize that President Obama has his head buried in the sand or is that in a less accessible body orifice.

To top off the show of American depravity, Hillary Clinton is leading the way under the Democratic banner to the White House.

Very energetic comments Chuck and Bob but we didn't belong in either Iraq or Afganistan. The American people bear the responsibility for those wars by electing leaders who have had neither the spine, or the intelligence to avoid war by negotiation. War is the tragic result of a failure in International policy. The only group that had success in those wars is the one that manufactures bombs and bullets, and I firmly believe that if we don't stop rattling a saber every time there is an international crisis, we will always be at war. In the last two, Americans lost thousands of their children and billions of dollars that could have been applied elsewhere. I believe that historians generally agree that the origin of ISIS, and probably 9/11, is in US Middle East policy of the last 8-10 Administrations, not the brief series of international policy failures made by dilettante SOS HC. She's not smart enough to have created ISIS either by design or accident.

Let's forget about Iraq, I was against that war myself, if for no other reason that it would be a waste of money on that maniac (estimated to cost $200 billion, actual cost close to $1 trillion). But Nighthawk are you saying we should have "negotiated" after the 911 attack? That statement doesn't even make sense. That sounds more like what Neville Chamberlain would say.

The Taliban and Osama bin Laden and the whole Muslim world were in a celebratory mood after 911 and you think we should have negotiated with them. Nighthawk, tell me how would you have approached that negotiation?

Nighthawk you say war is the result of international policy. I am very curious to hear from you how our international policy has affected the war between Shia and Suni Muslims and how our international policy has driven Iran and many of the Muslim nations to want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Looking forward to to your ideas on how the world "negotiates" ourselves out of these problems.

No, of course not but starting a war in Afganistan was not the correct response either. Couldn't we learn from the Soviet attempts there. The correct response was to use Special Forces to hunt them all down, which has proven to be the right response in its limited way. The opportunity to negotiate was lost 8 Administrations ago, or more. We created the Middle East situation, now we are reaping what we sowed. The end of the Cold War gave us huge opportunities to stabilize the world through diplomacy and we wasted it with regional conflicts. Stupid, just stupid.

We have repeatedly attempted an exercise in Nation Building with a democracy model. That is a religious doctrine conflict that has been going on for 2,000 years. It shouldn't involve us and touting our short term goals into it and selecting one side, we made enemies that we didn't have before. We have no business messing around in middle eastern politics. Our leaders neither understand it or have common goals. Let them settle it however they choose to.

I'm still confused, how would diplomacy have solved the wars of Muslims against each other and wars between Muslims and Israel? Do you believe we should abandon Israel, the only democracy in the mid-east, and let them fend for themselves?

Chuck, you and I are using two different reference points. You are in the "now", and I am in a "historical" reference period. There isn't a damn thing we can do "now", as citizens, but be pissed off because this leadership and any in the foreseeable future haven't a clue beyond to keep "reacting", which is stupid.

Our Leadership for the past 40-50 years has so throughly screwed up the Middle East that we are left with three options. 1. Muddle along, losing American lives and billions in National Treasure fighting limited conflicts that last into perpetuity. Defense contractors love that one and so do Congressmen with defense contractors in their districts. 2. Pull out completely and secure our own borders, then let the whole region sort out its own problems, one of which is Israel and Palistine. If Israel falls, so be it, that's natural selection. They either learn to work with Arabs or die. 3. Go all out with a full offensive attack and kill everyone that opposes us. Keep killing until there is nobody left standing. Put them back to riding camels in the desert. I would vote for #2.

War is the result of FAILED international policy. The rise of Hitler was entirely due to the egregious penalties imposed on Germany following WW1. Vietnam and Korea were due to missed diplomatic opportunities. It goes on and on. When National leadership try's to meddle in the domestic politics of other nations and fails the result is war.

Happens with old age. By the way, those aren't my comments on the rise of Hitler and the fundamental cause of WW2 in Europe, they come from a history book. It's easy to look back 80 years and see cause and effect.
